A long-time family-owned business, Steckel Produce Inc. of Jerseyville Illinois is a wholesale foodservice distributor which has been in business for decades.  Steckel Produce was founded in 1939 by Fred Steckel and was located in White Hall, Illinois.  The move to Jerseyville occurred in 1946 and the current location, opened in the 1950s, is located at 903 State Highway 16, Jerseyville IL 62052.  Fred’s sons, Bob & John Steckel, took over the company from their father and ran it for years before handing it down to Bob’s son, Denny.  Denny is currently the owner, his son Dale joined the company full-time in 2001.  Steckel Produce is a four-generation business which started out selling only produce but is now a broadline distributor carrying over 1,000 products.
